I’m a marketplace
The most efficient verification method depends on the volume of sellers you need to check.
For high volumes
use the asynchronous bulk query APIs. You can submit a list of Company IDs (EU VAT or other legal identifiers) or PRO-affiliation number combinations for batch verification. The system processes these requests asynchronously and provides a job reference or callback mechanism to retrieve results once processing is complete. This approach is ideal for periodic verification of your entire seller base or onboarding large groups of sellers simultaneously.
For individual verifications
use the synchronous single query APIs via either the web interface or API integration. You can query by Company ID or by the combination of PRO code and affiliation number. The system returns results immediately, confirming affiliation status with the company name, affiliation number(s), applicable product categories, and validity periods. This method works best for real-time verification during seller registration or when reviewing individual seller compliance.
For automated integration
request API keys through the Round Platform’s self-service portal after registration. API access allows you to integrate verification directly into your seller onboarding workflows and compliance monitoring systems.
Online marketplaces use the same URL to log in to the Round Ecommerce web application:

The Round Ecommerce platform is designed to help Belgian PRO/EPR organizations and online marketplaces comply with extended producer responsibility obligations laid down in Flemish waste legislation, in particular Vlarema 9 and related EPR implementing rules (ISA UPV).
Vlarema 9 introduces specific duties for operators of online marketplaces, including:
– A written information obligation towards producers about their take-back (EPR) duties.
– A monitoring obligation to prevent non-affiliated producers (no PRO membership or individual plan) from selling via the marketplace.
– A substitution rule: if the marketplace allows non-compliant producers, it must itself take over their EPR obligations.
– An annual reporting obligation to OVAM on all producers active on the platform, including their registration numbers with the relevant management bodies.
– An obligation to block non-compliant producers upon request of OVAM, failing which the marketplace assumes their obligations.
– Application of these same obligations to marketplaces that also act as producers for the products they sell themselves.
To make these legal obligations operational in a scalable and non-discriminatory way, the Round Ecommerce Platform is set up as a central “black box” between Belgian PROs and online marketplaces, enabling targeted, legally necessary data exchange (affiliation status, Company ID, PRO code, affiliation number, product category, and validity period) without exposing full member lists or marketplace customer lists.
Registration follows a self-service process where you provide your Company ID (EU VAT or other legal identifier), official company name, and contact information through the platform’s registration interface. After validation by the Round Platform administrator, you’ll receive a unique platform identifier and can request API keys for automated integration. You can register up to three marketplace administrators who can then approve additional employee registrations. The platform supports both interactive web-based queries and API integration for automated verification processes.
You can verify seller compliance in two ways: by querying using the seller’s Company ID (EU VAT or other legal identifier), or by using the combination of PRO code and the seller’s affiliation number with that specific PRO. The platform responds with a Yes/No answer, along with the company name, affiliation number(s), applicable product categories, and validity periods. This allows you to fulfill your legal obligations under Vlarema 9, which requires you to prevent non-affiliated producers from selling through your platform and to provide annual reports to OVAM.
Yes, your queries are completely confidential. The Round Platform does not store the content of your queries or the detailed answers you receive, preventing any party from reconstructing your seller list. The platform only maintains aggregated meta data such as the number of queries per product category and per marketplace for operational purposes, cost management, and platform usage insights—but never the specific relationship between your marketplace and individual companies. You cannot download complete PRO member lists, and any attempts to do so will result in platform access being blocked.
I’m a PRO / EPR organisation
The Round Ecommerce web application can be accessed via the following URL:
https://portal.register.round.be/
You can upload affiliation data in two ways: through batch uploads using CSV files or API integration, and through single record entry via the web interface. The platform requires specific information including the Company ID (EU VAT or other legal identifier), your affiliation number, company name, product category (if applicable), and validity period (start and end dates). Each upload is validated against agreed-upon data quality standards, and any records with errors are flagged for correction through an error table that you can access and manage interactively.
No, the platform operates as a secure “black box” ensuring complete confidentiality. Each PRO can only view and manage their own affiliation data. Online marketplaces can only query whether a specific company is affiliated with a PRO for verification purposes—they cannot download complete member lists or reconstruct your customer base. The Round Platform administrator has full access for operational purposes, but all administrative actions are comprehensively logged for audit and governance.
Your organization can register multiple employees as users of the Round Platform through a structured registration process. PRO employees need to be registered as interactive users to access the platform’s web interface for uploading data, monitoring upload status, and verifying processed information. Each user is authenticated individually, and the platform requires strong security measures including proper password management and access controls. Your users will have permissions limited to managing your PRO’s own data only.
