Did you know that the average household has over 130 batteries? Or that it takes 256 used batteries to make a new smartphone? These fascinating facts are shared with thousands of children every year during their visit to Villa Pila 2.0, an interactive and state-of-the-art educational experience unlike any other!
Recently, the students of Saint-Jean-Geest Primary School from Jodoigne were the first to explore this newly updated journey. Designed for children in grades 3 through 6, it introduces them to the world of batteries and recycling in a fun and engaging way.
During their visit, the children experience:
🔋 An interactive wall showcasing innovations in battery reuse and second-life technologies.
🔋 A massive battery wall, where they can explore over 100 different types of batteries, from the oldest to the most modern.
🔋 Hands-on experiments, where they learn to generate electricity using a lemon and even create their own Volta’s column, the first battery in history!
🔋 A visit to Bebat’s sorting center, where they learn about the entire battery recycling process.
🔋 A new recycling film and a quiz to wrap things up in an enjoyable way.
Since its launch in 2010, Villa Pila has welcomed over 35,000 students. With this updated version of the experience, Bebat continues to inspire children to think about their role in creating a more sustainable future! 🌍
